Big Brothers/Big SistersJoin Big Brothers/Big Sisters in mentoring young children and teens in our community. For just a few hours, a couple times a month, you can give a Little the invaluable gift of your friendship. Committed volunteers, nineteen years of age or older, may serve as Big Brothers/Big Sisters. Spouses may also serve together as Big Couples.Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA)Become a CASA and be a voice for children in court. In an overburdened social welfare system, abused and neglected children often slip through the cracks among hundreds of current cases. CASA volunteers change that. Appointed by judges, CASA volunteers typically handle just one case at a time and commit to staying on that case until the child is placed in a safe, permanent home. While others may come and go, CASA volunteers provide that one constant that children need in order to thrive.Matrix Pregnancy Resource CenterMatrix offers alternatives to abortion to women in an unplanned pregnancy or in financial need. Volunteers at Matrix provide clients with free pregnancy tests and counseling, ongoing pregnancy and parenting education, and assist moms with clothing appointments in the Matrix store. This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
